About you

We are looking for a Speech  Pathologist to join our team on a permanent full time/ part time basis so that we can bring therapy to more people. You will provide assessment and intervention services to an existing caseload with a focus on early intervention and have the opportunity to build on that and create a caseload that suits your skill set. Our team of experienced speech pathologists will support you to devise evidence-based practices and strategies to help our clients communicate.

  • Current qualifications as a Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Current or eligible for a SPA membership

  • Are flexible in your approach to working with a variety of clients and their families, operating in an individualised way with each person.
  • Hold or are willing to obtain a current Working with Children Check, a NDIS Worker Screening Check and/or Police Check before commencing.
  • You have a full, unrestricted Australian Driver’s License  

The role

  • The hours required for this role are negotiable: you can do your 38 hours in 4 days or work 5 days starting early and finishing early or starting later and finishing later. We also offer a 9 day fortnight. We are flexible!
  • You will treat a majority of NDIS funded clients and with an opportunity for a niched caseload to suit your special area of interest
  • Your level of experience will determine your salary package, and our existing therapists’ salary packages range from a base salary $85,000 to $100,000 pro rata ( including super and entitlements) with the potential to earn 20% more through bonuses for exceeding KPIs
  • You will have access to a generous PD budget of $1500 per year, internal formal and informal clinic mentoring, highly experienced external paid mentors the clinic engages, and the clinic organises 2-3 in house professional development days a year which you attend for free
  • We have a highly skilled admin team to assist you at all levels of your role including billing and scheduling
  • Opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills and supervise therapy assistants, student speech pathologists and new graduates

Therapy Assistant Role

The last few years RSP  have employed a final year speech student to work in our team as casual therapy assistant and it was a huge success. I was able to offer full time roles at the end of 2021, 2022 and 2023. Our caseload keeps growing and thus we find ourselves needing another therapy assistant.  

About You:

Ideally we would like a Speech Pathology or other Allied Health  student in their 3rd or 4th year of study or already have their certificate IV  in 
Allied Health assistance.  We want someone who is interested in working in the disability sector particularly with kids as we have a strong focus on early intervention. You must be fun, proactive and keen to learn!

The right candidate must have a blue card or blue card exemption, drivers license (we do have a company car available as well), be kind, patient and have experience working with people with disabilities.  Work hours are flexible around study, family and other commitments.  Casual shifts are a minimum of 3 hours and availability after school (2:30-5:30) is preferred but not essential.

The role would include:

  • Supporting our team with visual communication resource making in Boardmaker, cutting laminating printing
  • Assisting with running group programs
  • laminating, copying and cutting out resources
  • Implementing therapy programs with some appropriate clients
  • Visiting clients in the community ( school, childcare, day service) to help them generalise skills
  • Proofreading reports
  • answering the phone and helping our admin team
